This year's paintings continue to record aspects of my own life - things I've seen, places I've been, people I've met, bars I've drinked at.

It is an on-going aim of mine to capture on canvas as many things as possible that cross my path during the course of a year - I feel that I am recording my own history. In brief, I continue to paint; I continue to paint narrative; I continue to paint my world.

I still believe that art doesn't neccessarily have to be aloof and cerebral, that it is possible and legitimate to paint simply for the pleasure in painting - and, as in my case, telling a story - and I hope the viewer enjoys. A smile is a powerful thing.
